Ο Στέφανος Μάμαλης είναι Πτυχιούχος Τ.Ε.Φ.Α.Α Καθηγητής Φυσικής Αγωγής και προπονητής της Εθνικής Ομάδος Στίβου στις ταχύτητες και στα εμπόδια.
Αθλητές του έχουν επιτύχει Πανελλήνια ρεκόρ και διεθνείς διακρίσεις ενώ δεκάδες μαθητών του έχουν εισαχθεί στα ανώτατα εκπαιδευτικά ιδρύματα της χώρας.
Παράλληλα είναι υπεύθυνος βελτίωσης φυσικής κατάστασης επαγγελματιών παικτών ποδοσφαίρου και basket με σημαντικότερη εκπρόσωπο την Εβίνα Μάλτση, καλύτερης παίκτριας basketball της Ευρώπης το 2009 (MVP).
Επίσης είναι Αντιπρόεδρος του συνδέσμου προπονητών στίβου Βορείου Ελλάδος, εκλεγμένος κατα τις αρχαιρεσίες το 2010.
